Man, 26, Shot In Linden (

A 26-year-old man was shot in the abdomen in Linden on the afternoon of Thursday, May 4, authorities said. Officers responded to the 10 block of N. Wood Ave and located the victim, who suffered a single gunshot wound, Captain Christopher Guenther said. The victim was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital, Guenther said. The incident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Firefighters spent several hours of the night battling cold conditions and the three-alarm fire that broke out at a commercial building in Linden overnight and into the early hours of Tuesday, Dec. 13. 2-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Backyard North Jersey Pool
A 2-year-old boy drowned in his family's backyard pool over the weekend in Union County, authorities said. Family members pulled the boy from the pool on the 400 block of McKinley Street in Linden and immediately began CPR on Sunday, July 31, Linden Police Capt. Christopher Guenther said. The boy was rushed to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under joint investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau, the Linden Police Juvenile Aid Bureau, and the Union County Homide Task Force.
