Ticketed Driver Dumps Full Soda Cup Into Ridgewood Parking Agent's Car, Flees, But Guess What? A motorist who found a ticket on his illegally parked vehicle in Ridgewood dumped a full cup of soda through the open driver's side window of a nearby parking agent's vehicle on Friday. A village police officer and patrol supervisor quickly responded to the scene of the Aug. 18 afternoon incident on Chestnut Street near East Ridgewood Avenue. The vandal had driven off, but police now have what looks to be legitimate vehicle information. Charges are expected shortly. Boyd A. Loving took the photo and wrote most of this story.

Wyckoff Teens Rewarded For Turning In Necklace Doing the right thing paid off sweetly for a pair of 14-year-old Wyckoff girls who found a necklace on a Ridgewood sidewalk a year ago. Emily Mainwald and Natalie Jackson had spotted something shiny while walking along Chestnut Street last Aug. 31, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said Wednesday. “Bending down to examine it more closely, they realized they had found a beautiful necklace,” the chief said. “They looked around, but no one appeared to be searching for anything, so they did what came naturally.” Emily called her mom, who picked up the girls and even contacted the store in front …
