Wallington Students Compete In Academic Decathlon

WALLINGTON, N.J. -- The Wallington High School Academic Decathlon Team participated in this year’s Academic Decathlon of New Jersey at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes on Jan. 31.

The WHS team came in 10th place in the Super Quiz event. Individual awards were as follows:

  • Julia Leszczuk- Honors Level Honorable Mention in Speech, Team MVP
  • Olivia Krupinska- Honors Level Honorable Mention in Essay, Honors Level Team High Score
  • Adrian Sawicki – Scholastic Level Honorable Mention for Interview, Scholastic Level Team High Score
  • Alex Khan Hosein- Varsity Level Gold Medal in Economics, Honorable Mention in Music
  • Klaudia Jablonski- Varsity Level Silver Medal in Art, Varsity Level Team High Score
  • Malhar Vyas- Varsity Alternate- Gold Medals in Math, Art, Music, Language

 This year’s Academic Decathlon topic was India, and the categories the team participated in were: Super Quiz, Language, Music, Science, Art, Math, Economics, Essay, Speech, Interview and Social Science.
