Wednesday’s robbery occurred on Main Avenue near Hatheway Park just before 10 p.m., said Police Capt. Carmello Imbruglia, the department commander.

The victim, a 31-year-old Wallington man, sustained back and leg injuries but refused medical attention, Imbruglia said.

“It seemed like a setup,” the captain said. “We had one a couple of weeks earlier just like it. They call and arrange a meeting, then they rob the victim.”

Officer Kasper identified two suspects, both of whom were found outside their homes and arrested by Officer Paul Stolarz.

One of them, Joshua J. Boyd (above, left), had just been dropped off by a friend, Imbruglia said.

Boyd was charged with two counts of robbery, as well as assault and conspiracy. He was being held on $175,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

His alleged accomplice, Paul J. Desbiens, was being held on $100,000 bail, charged with a single count of robbery, assault and conspiracy.
