Robber in Cowboys hat robs Wallington bank of $7,000

A 20-something man in a Dallas Cowboys hat threw a bag over the counter at a Wallington bank and made off with nearly $7,000 in cash, police said.

Four employees and six customers were in the Chase Bank branch on Main Street when the robber struck just after 10 a.m., Sgt. David Backo said.

The Bergen County Sherriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.
