WALLINGTON, N.J. -- A dog died, but no other injuries were reported after flames swept through the rear of a Wallington florist.

Firefighters who arrived at the Paterson Avenue location on the corner Mt. Pleasant Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday found a rear apartment fully involved, borough fire officials said.

Flames also engulfed a pickup truck and garage, they said.

It took 30 minutes to bring the two-alarm blaze under control and keep it from damaging the business, fire officials said.

Joining their Wallington colleagues were firefighters from Wood Ridge, Carlstadt, and Garfield.

The borough fire official was investigating.
