North Arlington Police Hunt Gas Station Robber

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- North Arlington police Friday morning released a surveillance image of a man who they said held up a gas station the night before.

The robber threatened the attendant with "an unknown large metal object while demanding money" in an office area of the Ridge Road LukOil gas station just befor 9 p.m., Capt. Scott Hedenberg said.

The employee turned over several hundred dollars and the robber took off with it, getting into a two-door vehicle with a partial New Jersey license plate of "NFD," Hedenberg said.

The car then headed west on Albert Street, he said.

The robber was described as dark-skinned, in his 30s, about 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-4 with a think build, the captain said.

He was wearing a black North Face skull cap, black vest with a hood, grey sweater, black North Face gloves, black sweat pants and grey/white sneakers, he said.
