Naked emotionally disturbed man sets fire at Paramus nursery

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An emotionally disturbed man who fled Bergen Regional Medical Center before dawn this morning walked into a tree nursery and set a small fire that was quickly extinguished, Paramus police said.

The call came from Eisele’s Nursery & Garden Center of New Jersey, on Oradell Avenue, at 7:05 a.m., Lt. John Scully said.

After quickly extinguishing the flames, police took the 44-year-old Lyndhurst man into custody and returned him to the medical center, Scully said.

The fire caused minimal damage, the lieutenant said.

The man apparently “eloped” from the center around 3:30 a.m. he said.
