Lyndhurst police grab Paterson man with girlfriend’s stolen purse, crack

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Lyndhurst police said they tracked down a Paterson man whose girlfriend told them he’d stolen her purse during an argument at a local motel.

Officers Steve Passamano and Michael LeStrange found 36-year-old Roheem Jenkins on the shoulder of the Passaic River Bridge after interviewing the 23-year-old Passaic woman at the Winslow Motel around 4 a.m. yesterday, Capt. John Valente told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

He had the purse, Valente said.

Police released Jenkins on a court summons charging him with theft and possession of crack. They then had him taken by Lyndhurst EMS to Bergen Regional Medical Center for a medical evaluation, the captain said.
