Richard Ramos will likely spend his 25th birthday on Saturday in custody. He’s being held without bail in the Bergen County Jail, pending an extradition procedure to Chester County, PA.
Ramos, who lives on Monroe Street in Passaic, ducked charges there that include two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and criminal mischief, as well as theft, careless driving, reckless driving, endangerment and driving while on the suspended list, records show.
Warrants for his arrest were issued two weeks ago.
Lyndhurst Police Officer Phillip Reina pulled over a commercial van Ramos was driving around noon today because it didn’t have any signage or identifiers.
“He also noticed that the rear brake lights weren’t working,” Police Chief James O’Connor told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Reina quickly determined not only that Ramos’s driver’s license was suspended but that he was also wanted out of Spring City, PA.
Backup arrived, and the officers took Ramos to headquarters. He was issued several summonses, charged criminally with being a fugitive from justice and taken to the county lockup.
