Scott Rubinetti, 39, was led out of the school in handcuffs today, several witnesses told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The former Montclair State star kicker is free on $150,000 bail, charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and witness tampering.

The woman, now 18 and now longer a student at the school, told a teacher, who notified authorities, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

She “was located and confirmed inappropriate sexual conduct occurred between her and Rubinetti” in 2009 and 2010, “when the student was a senior at Lyndhurst High School,” the prosecutor said.

Once he found out that authorities knew, Rubinetti got hold of the woman “and told her to lie to law enforcement if questioned regarding their inappropriate sexual conduct with each other,” Molinelli said.

Rubinetti taught and coached previously at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes and Northern Valley High School in Demarest.

Rubinetti, who teaches physical ed and health, returned to his alma mater from Northern Valley-Demarest — and got married — three years ago.

The Golden Bears last year went 8-3 after two straight losing seasons and were ranked 166th in the state.

The Nutley resident previously taught and coached at Ramapo for three years.

Lyndhurst school district officials said he has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the case.
