LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Lyndhurst police Wednesday night released surveillance photos of a man who they said swiped nearly $2,000 from an unsecured drawer at a local gas station.

He's about 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, police said.

The thief entered the office area of the Shell Station on Ridge Road around 9 a.m. Wednesday while station attendants were busy with customers and snatched the money, Detective Vin Auteri said.

He was described as black, about 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, with a beard, tight corn rows and a right arm covered in tattoos.
