Garfield police officer nabs trio with 500 illegal prescription pills after Lodi paintball attack

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Three Hudson County men stopped by Garfield police after shooting paintballs at a Lodi business were illegally carrying more than 500 pills of various types — including morphine, Xanax and Oxycodone — along with marijuana, drug paraphernalia and the paintball gun, authorities said.

Responding to the Lodi alert, Garfield Police Officer Sebastian Tyburski stopped and spotted the trio’s car on River Drive and Dewitt Street just after 12:30 a.m., Capt. Darren Sucorowski said this afternoon.

A subsequent investigation turned up alprazolam, diazepam, lorazepam, marijuana, morphine, Oxy and Xanax, he said.

Eddie Gonzalez (above, left) of Jersey City and Jossue Acencio (above, middle) of Hoboken, both 25, were being held on $25,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail.

Alexander Rivera, 24 (above, right), was being held on $40,000 bail.

All three were charged with various drug possession and distribution counts, as well as two weapons possession offenses.
