Officers rushed to Miller Street and grabbed Steven Benedek of Passaic as he tried getting in through the rear door and window, damaging both, police Capt. Carmello Imbruglia told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Benedek has a Bergen County criminal record that stretches back nearly 20 years, mostly for burglary.

He was being held this time on $15,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.

“I am very happy to see the residents taking an active role in protecting out community,” Imbruglia said.
