Authorities charge Wayne man with sexually abusing Lyndhurst boy

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 21-year-old Wayne man was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a Lyndhurst boy with whom authorities said he had illicit conversations on social media and through texts.

Nicholas Paradiso, who works as a cook and counterman at an Italian restaurant, was being held on $300,000 bail in he Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment.

Paradiso twice “engaged in inappropriate sexual activity” with the boy, both when 12 and after he’d turned 13, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said ths afternoon.

“The victim’s mother found what she believed to be inappropriate conversations via social media sites and text messaging on her child’s phone and promptly notified the Lyndhurst Police Department,” the prosecutor said.

Lyndhurst police contacted Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit and the boy “provided specific details regarding what had occurred” while being interviewed at the prosecutor’s Paramus office.

Detectives arrested him yesterday, the prosecutors said.

An arraignment was set for this coming Tuesday for the 5-foot-4-inch, 260-pound Paradiso, a Belleville native who studied culinary arts at Bergen Community College.
