Detective Lt. Shawn Kudlacik was returning to headquarters after following up a lead on a burglary when he spotted 23-year-old Bassem Abdelrazek leaving a local food market, Police Chief Carmelo Imbruglia said.
Kudlacik found him carrying two bags of pot, for which he was charged, the chief said.
Abdelrazek was released pending a Nov. 21 court hearing.
