Vincent T. Petrocelli, 85, Of North Arlington

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Vincent T. Petrocelli, 85, died July 6, 2016, at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. 

Born in New York City, he lived in North Arlington for the past 46 years and was a former North Arlington Little League baseball and basketball coach. 

He worked 37 years as a machinist for the City of New York Water Department before retiring in 1990.

Petrocelli served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Medal. During World War II, he was named New Yorker of the week by the Children's Aid Society. 

He was the husband of the late Julia C. (nee Hernon); father of Richard Petrocelli of Lyndhurst and his wife, Kathi, Sandra Cuozzo of Ridgefield Park and her husband, Joseph, Joan Petrocelli Doumas of Midland Park and her husband, George and the late Catherine Venezia and her husband, the late Louis; grandfather of Louis John Venezia and his wife, Melissa, Michael Petrocelli, Stephanie Puttick and her husband, Mark, Mark Petrocelli and his wife, Jessica, Kevin Venezia, Joseph and Vincent Cuozzo, Nicholas and Evan Doumas, Elizabeth, Michelle and Daniel Strickland; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Momday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation will be at the from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
