NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Victor M. Cruz, 75, died Jan. 29, 2016 at the Kindred Hospital in Wayne.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he lived in North Arlington before moving to Surf City three years ago.
He was an avid tennis player and runner who ran in the New York, Boston and Lisbon marathons.
He worked as a checker for the Wakefern Food Corporation in Elizabeth for 35 years before retiring in 1995.
He was the husband of Clementina (nee Belo); the father of Nancy D. Ferrero of Hewitt and Suzy Marotta and her husband Edward of North Caldwell; and the grandfather of John and Victor Ferrero and Gabriella and Angelica Marotta.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington, thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
