KEARNY, N.J. – Robert L. Chapman, 87, of Kearny, died Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.
Born in Newark, he lived in North Arlington before moving to Kearny in 1979. He worked as an electrical engineer for AT&T, formerly Western Electric, in Newark for many years before retiring 31 years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was the husband of Helen M. (neé Doxbeck ); father of Robert L. Chapman Jr. and Karen Hrevnack (Michael); grandfather of two; and brother to four siblings.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
