WALLINGTON, N.J. – Peter S. DeVries, of Wallington, died Wednesday, Jan. 6. He was 89.
DeVries was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Wallington, serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
After his service, he worked for the Bergen County Road Department, the Hamersley Paper Company and Grand Union Supermarkets in Carlstadt before retiring.
DeVries was predeceased by his wife Helen, son Michael and seven siblings.
He is survived by daughter Helen Card and her husband Kenneth of East Stroudsburg, Pa.
Visiting hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Kamienski Funeral Home of Wallington, 106 Locust Ave., with services at 9 a.m. Monday.
