Miriam Davis, 94, Of Lyndhurst

LYNDHURST, N.J. – Miriam Davis, a resident of Lyndhurst, died Thursday, April 14. She was 94.

She was a member of the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church, a past president of United Methodist Women at the church, past district officer and conference officer of the group and involved on many church committees. She was a former den mother for BSA Pack 89, past president of Columbus School PTA, a member of Bergen County Council of PTAS and American Legion Auxiliary Barringer Post.

She studied art under her grandfather, Gustov Gurgemon, renowned for ceiling and wall murals. Most of her work was done on fine china.

She is survived by her children, Burton S. Davis Jr. and Susan D. Meek; grandchildren, Amanda, Lori, Jessica and Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Evan, Dean, Ava, Veronica and Lucian.

She was predeceased by her husband, Burton S. Davis Sr.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst. The funeral service will at 7 p.m. Monday. Cremation to follow at East Ridgelawn Crematory. Friends will be received from 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
