Former Don Bosco Athlete From Wallington, 28, Dies

WALLINGTON, N.J.– Former Don Bosco football player John D. "J.D." Krommenhoek, 28, of Wallington died suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

The 2006 Bosco graduate had been working as a steamfitter for the Enterprise Association of Steamfitters Local 638 in Long Island City, N.Y.

He played on the defensive line for Don Bosco.

A service was held Monday at the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge. 

Krommenhoek was cremated. 

Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights handled the arrangements. 

His father, John, was a star athlete for Hasbrouck Heights High School, and coached alongside his former classmate and teammate, Greg Toal, at Don Bosco. He died in 2014 at age 58.
