NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. – Ernest Bergmueller, an avid sailor, carpenter and music aficionado, died Tuesday, Feb. 2 at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. He was 85.
Born in Avenel, he lived in North Arlington since 1966, and served in the U.S. Navy during peacetime. He worked for Public Service Electric and Gas Company for 40 years before retiring 23 years ago.
He was the husband of Mary T. Bergmueller (Mooney); the father of Elaine Kronyak and her husband, Kenneth, of North Arlington, Maureen Bergmueller, of Los Angeles, and Karen Bergmueller, of New York City; the grandfather of Kevin Kronyak and his wife, Maria and Rachel Kronyak; the brother of Adolf Bergmueller, the late Hedwig Grant, Louise Bergmueller, Margaret Bennett, Walter Bergmueller, Irma Crawford and Paul Bergmueller; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home then to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington for the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
