LYNDHURST, N.J. — The day before Mother's Day, a boy from Lyndhurst named Jason lost his father.

Union City Police Sergeant Mark Zeitounian, 44, was headed to work when he was struck from behind and killed on Route 3.

In an effort to help Jason and his mom, Debra Zeitounian, the community has established a Ugift529 account, with all contributions going directly to Jason's college education fund.
