The event is being organized by Murphy's son, New Milford resident Brett Murphy.
Murphy has made it his life's work to help people living with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, after it took his father's life in 2004 at the age of 56.
"There is no treatment or cure for ALS," Murphy told Daily Voice. "Living with it is extremely difficult difficult for both patients and caregivers."
Tickets are $25 each. Murphy said he hopes to raise between $4,000 and $5,000. All proceeds will go to the ALS Association of Greater New York.
Murphy, 32, has been raising funds for ALS for more than seven years, and recently accepted a job with the ALS Association — which provides patient services, research and advocacy for ALS.
This year's fundraiser is a wine tasting and tricky tricky at winemaking school "Make Wine With Us" at 21 Curie Avenue in Wallington.
Murphy said the event will feature a selection of great wines, homemade snacks and desserts, a tricky tray auction, and a 50/50.
If the wine tasting is successful, Murphy said he would like to catapult it into an annual event.
"Ever since we were brought into the ALS community we have been getting more involved," Murphy said. "I hope we can continue to keep growing and putting on more events like this."
