LYNDHURST, N.J.– Hundreds of people of all ages lined the street and Town Hall Park in Lyndhurst to celebrate the opening night of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel's 25th annual Italian-American Festival.

Rides, carnival games and vendors were set up along Delafield Avenue. 

There were plenty of Italian specialties – Italian ice, zeppole, and meatball parm heroes – for sale.

Every hour, a 50/50 raffle drawing is scheduled to take place. The super 50/50 will be drawn after the last concert on Saturday.

There was also "Music Under The Stars" courtesy of Eaglemania, an Eagles tribute band. Voyage, a Journey tribute band, performed afterward. 

The free festival will run through Saturday: 

Friday – 6-10 p.m.

Saturday – 5-11 p.m.

 Live music will continue: 

Thursday

  • 7:00 p.m. – Tusk (Fleetwood Mac tribute band)
  • 9:00 p.m. – The Duprees

Friday 

  • 7:00 p.m. – Beginnings (Chicago tribute band)
  • 9:00 p.m. – Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot (Billy Joel cover band)

Saturday

  • 7:00 p.m. – The Vogues
  • 9:00 p.m. – The Stylistics

A mass in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A procession will carry the statue down Copeland Ave., 10th Street, and Sanford Ave. following the mass. 

Town Hall Park is located at 299 Delafield Ave.
