"I'm always looking for something else. I'm never satisfied," said Woolery, who commute from Mount Vernon daily.
Before taking up a management role for Mooyah, Woolery worked as a nurse for ten years in New York City. He left his nursing job so he could have more time for his wife and two children.
His profession may have changed but his core skills remain the same.
"You deal with people in all walks of life. [Nurses] have huge customer service skills. Not just physically but putting the needs of others before theirs and accommodating them," Woolery said.
He was first introduced to the food industry by his father, who ran two Jamaican restaurants when he was a teenager.
Since his youth he's dabbled in finance, nursing and other jobs, but he keeps coming back to helping people.
He chose Lyndhurst for his franchise because of the community.
"It's a family orientated place," Woolery said.
Mooyah's Lyndhurst location is expected to open at 425 Valley Brook Avenue later this month.
