Street Closures In Newark Sunday For Film Production
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announces that a number of streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday due to a film production. The production, "Masters of Doom," is a drama series based on the 2003 book of the same name that tells the story of the two founders of id Software, which created revolutionary video games such as Quake, Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. Victim In Second Weekend Fatal Shooting In Newark Identified
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office released the name of a man killed late Sunday night in Newark. Jamal Williams, 29, of East Orange, was shot in the 200 block of Mulberry Street shortly before 11 p.m. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital. The shooting occurred near the Prudential Center, but there were no events at the popular entertainment venue at the time. Authorities are investigating a pair of shootings over the weekend that occurred near two different nightspots in Newark. Early Sunday morning, a shooting left one dead outside Rio Lounge at Market and Somme streets in the Ironbound.
