Two boys – one 16, the other 14 -- were captured following a stolen car pursuit in which the driver at one point perilously sped south on northbound Route 23, authorities said. Four masked thieves in all were pulling on vehicle door handles when police pulled up in response to a call on Oak Hill Drive in Wayne shortly before 5:30 a.m., Detective Capt. Dan Daly said. Questions Emerge After Trio Is Charged With Stabbing In Passaic
Two Passaic residents and one from Wayne were charged with stabbing one of two city men during what authorities said was a planned attack. Being held in the Passaic County Jail pending initial court appearances this Wednesday in Superior Court in Paterson are Sergio Xochiulacuamatzi, 26, Christian Martinez, 21, both from Passaic, and Richard Arriaga, 25, of Wayne. Driver Critically Injured In Wayne Rollover
A driver was critically injured in a rollover crash Saturday morning in Wayne, responders said. Township firefighters sawed the roof of the Jeep to extricate the victim following the 6:30 a.m. crash on Black Oak Ridge Road (Route 202) near Ashlyn Court. The cause wasn't immediately determined. The victim was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Wayne police, firefighters and EMS responded. UPDATE: A tractor-trailer driver from Caldwell was killed in a crash while riding his motorcycle Friday night on Route 23 in Wayne, authorities confirmed. Authorities: Pedestrian Struck, Killed By FedEx Truck On Route 23 In Wayne Still Not ID'd
More than a day after a man was struck and killed by a FedEx truck on Route 23 in Wayne, authorities hadn't yet been able to identify him. The victim was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, a little over a half-hour after he was struck on the highway's northbound side near Black Oak Ridge Road, authorities said Friday.
