Belleville Man Shoots Paterson Resident During Online-Arranged Meeting, Authorities Say A Belleville man was charged with attempted murder in the broad-daylight shooting of a Paterson resident. Daniel Jimenez, 37, was identified as the gunman who shot the unsuspecting 26-year-old victim near the corner of East 28th Street and 7th Avenue in Paterson around 2 p.m July 26 after arranging the meeting online for some type of purchase, they said. Unsuspecting Victim Shot In Paterson, Dropped Off At Hospital A robbery victim who'd apparently been lured to the area for a supposed online transaction was shot in broad daylight on a Paterson street, responders said. A vehicle dropped off the 26-year-old Paterson resident at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center moments after the shooting at East 28th Street and 7th Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Multi-Vehicle Crash Ends Paterson Police Pursuit A police pursuit ended with a multi-vehicle crash at an intersection on Paterson's east side. The crash involving a stolen Toyota Camry, an SUV and another sedan at the corner of 7th Avenue and East 26th Street near McLean Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m. Friday ignited a fire in one of the vehicles. Firefighters also were needed for an extrication, responders said. At least one suspect was taken into custody, they said. There was no immediate word on possible injuries, although at least one was considered life-threatening.
