After what will be a relatively mild weekend -- albeit with rain -- the colder air is coming to stay, same as it did the past two frigid winters, forecasters warn.
The warmth will trigger the Polar Vortex to the north, which will high-tail it through a jet stream down the East Coast. Accuweather says that could bring us below-average temperatures for at least a week.
While that's happening, El Niño will whip a series of storms from the Pacific Ocean inland.
Forecasters hope that tamps the Arctic cold enough to prevent the wrong kind of records from being set around here.
The upshot, however, are storms -- as in: snow.
Don't say you weren't warned.
