Major Crash Jams Parkway For Miles In Essex County
Traffic crawled on the Garden State Parkway in Essex County Thursday morning due to a major crash. The crash -- apparently involving nearly a dozen vehicles -- occurred on the southbound side of the highway between Exit 145 - I-280 to Exit 143B (Irvington) Rubbernecking delays on Garden State Parkway northbound South of Exit 143 - NJ 124 (Irvington Twp) to North of Exit 144 - CR 510 (Newark) All lanes open 2 mile delay https://t.co/OtZvhBAY1h — 511NJ GSP (@511njgsp) May 27, 2021 All lanes were open but a more than 2-mile delay was reported.

Another Route 80 Delay: Overturned Tractor Trailer Shuts Eastbound Highway In Roxbury
Route 80 was backed up Friday morning after a tractor trailer overturned spilling fuel across the highway. All lanes were closed near Exit 34 - NJ 15 as of 10:30 a.m., according to 511nj.org. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. Photos show the trailer hanging off the guardrail. Delays of 90 minutes were reported. Motorists urged to plan alternate routes during rush hours.

25 NJ Transit Passengers Transferred From Disabled Pascack Valley Line Train
A Rockland County-bound train experiencing mechanical problems delayed 25 passengers at the Park Ridge station Tuesday, NJ Transit officials said. Passengers on Pascack Valley Line train #1613 were transferred to the Montvale station after their 1:32 p.m. train to Spring Valley became disabled, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. A rescue train was sent out to push the disabled train out of the way, NJ Transit officials said. The incident did not impact other trains, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Start planning your alternative routes. The New Jersey Department of Transportation will be replacing the Paramus Road overpass above Route 4 beginning May 31. The overpass will be demolished and reconstructed over the course, shutting the portion of Paramus Road completely (yes, 24 hours a day). Police urge motorist to plan accordingly.

Amtrak Worker Train Derails Near NYC's Penn Station, Commuter Tickets Cross-Honored By PATH
Direct Saturday morning commuter rail service into Manhattan's Penn Station was being diverted to Hoboken after an Amtrak worker train derailed, NJ Transit said. Customers could then switch to PATH, which was cross-honoring their tickets at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street in order to get to the area. No injuries were reported after a mechanical problem caused the derailment just outside Penn Station, the agency said. The train derailed just before 7 a.m., NJ Transit tweeted. Results included LIRR delays in and out of Penn.
