A crash between three buses closed the Port Authority Bus Terminal for more than three hours on Wednesday, July 2, upending the morning of commute for thousands of riders. At 6:15 a.m., Port Authority police responded to a crash involving three NJ Transit buses at the bus terminal, the agency said. Fourteen people sustained minor injuries, with 13 people being hospitalized, the Port Authoritiy said. Local Dad, 59, Struck, Killed By Train In Glen Rock
UPDATE: A 59-year-old father of three was struck and killed Saturday afternoon when responders said he deliberately stepped in front of a passenger train in Glen Rock. The man accessed the area off Rock Road near the CVS and was struck around 3:35 p.m., they said. The NJ Transit #1720 train had left Suffern at 3:08 p.m., bound for Secaucus Junction, NJ Transit's Nathan Rudy said. There were 80 people in all aboard. No injuries were reported. NJ Transit: Nutley Man Struck, Killed By Train In Park Ridge
A 38-year-old Nutley man was struck and killed by a commuter train Monday morning in Park Ridge. The man drove to the area of the Dunkin' Donuts, just west of the Park Ridge train station, where an NJ Transit spokesman said he was struck at 7:25 a.m. The 1612 train left Spring Valley at 7:10 a.m. for Secaucus Junction and had 180 customers and a crew aboard, NJT's Nathan Rudy said. NJ Transit buses and private carriers picked up the passengers, he said. Service was resumed at 11:30 a.m.
