Three Springfield police officers were hurt after a repeat offender crashed into multiple pedestrian cars and slammed into a patrol cruiser in an attempt to escape arrest on Thursday, July 25, authorities said. Davey Quinones, 20, faces 46 charges, many of them felonies, after his arrest, Springfield police said. Emergency crews were quick to save a kitten that had become trapped in a vehicle’s wheel well in the parking lot of a Warren County ShopRite. The Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company responded to the store on Route 57 in Mansfield Township around 5 p.m., the department said. Chief Kostenbader worked alongside Schooley's Mountain Fire Co. 3’s Chief Welch, who had been inside the store during the initial call, authorities said. Teen Bicyclist Hospitalized In Warren County Crash
A teen bicyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a sedan Thursday afternoon in Washington, authorities said. The 17-year-old was heading west on Route 57 when the 71-year-old Subaru Legacy driver was attempting a left turn from S. Lincoln Avenue around 1:30 p.m.Washington Police Lt. John Kaufmann said. The teen was treated at the scene by of the Washington Emergency Squad and transported to Hackettstown Medical Center. WTPD officers were assisted at the scene by the Washington Emergency Squad. The accident remains under investigation.

Farm Tractor Kills Wrong-Way Warren County Motorcyclist
A wrong-way Phillipsburg motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital after being struck by a farm tractor in Washington, reports say. A motorcyclist traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Route 57 was struck by a John Deere tractor towing a P-7000 corn planter just before 7 p.m. May 13 in Washington Borough, WRNJ reports. The tractor was headed westbound on Route 57. The motorcyclist, a 55-year-old man from Phillipsburg, transported to Hunterdon Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.

Route 22 Lane Closures Begin For Intersection Improvements Project
Lanes in both directions on Route 22 in Lopatcong Township have started to close daily for electrical and curb work. As the Route 22 Intersection Improvements project at I-78 Logistics Park continues in Lopatcong, a single right lane in both directions between Roseberry Street and where Route 22 and Route 57 split will be closed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Wednesday, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said in a release.
