Video shared to social media shows Paterson Councilman Luis Velez after an apparent car crash early Monday morning, May 12, and the other driver says he had been drinking. Two water main breaks were reported in two Bergen County towns Thursday night, Dec. 26. According to the NJDOT site, the first was reported in Ridgefield Park, closing all lanes of Route 46 east of the Hackensack River Bridge. A 47-year-old woman was in critical condition after she was struck by a car Monday night on Route 46, responders said. The driver of the white Nissan hatchback that hit her remained at the scene of the crash in the westbound lanes at Phillips Avenue in South Hackensack shortly before 10:30 p.m. The victim, believed to be homeless, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
