A driver who crashed into multiple state police vehicles in Whippany Township remains at large after leading a brief pursuit before abandoning his vehicle and getting into another on Route 78, Monday, Nov. 20, authorities said. A Friday morning crash on I-93 in Canton injured multiple people when a work truck rolled over a guard rail, reports said, and caused a traffic headache for many. Driver, 30, Dies In Route 24 Crash
A 30-year-old man died in a crash on Route 24 early Friday, Feb. 4 in Union County, authorities said. Alexander Marrero's vehicle was heading eastbound onto the I-78 ramp when his Mazda 3 veered off the left side of the road around 1:15 a.m. in Springfield, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota said. The car struck the end of a guard rail on the eastbound ramp and Marrero, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial and unconfirmed reports say the driver suffered a severely severed leg.

Overturned Tractor-Trailer Spills Fluid, Causes Delays On Route 24
A tractor-trailer overturned and caused a large fluid spill on Route 24 Wednesday afternoon, initial reports say. The truck overturned on the eastbound ramp that leads to Route 78 west in Springfield Township shortly before 1:20 p.m., according to 511nj.org. The County Hazardous Materials Unit responded to the scene to clear a large fluid spill, according to initial and unconfirmed reports. One person died and two others were injured when a Toyota overturned on Route 24 in Morris County. Carmen Orellana, 37, of Orange, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:21 a.m. accident on the eastbound side of the highway Wednesday in Morris Township, New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
