3 Pulled From Long Island Sound Off Milford After Boat Sinks; 1 In Critical Condition
Three people were pulled from Long Island Sound after the boat they were on sank on Monday, Nov. 4, authorities said. All were taken to an area hospital for treatment with one person in critical condition. Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency in the late afternoon, as rain continued falling, leaving drivers trapped in flood waters across the state. Dunderhook Road at Paramus Road in Paramus remained closed due to flooding, leading the borough's Office of Emergency Management to urge an evacuation of the area late Friday afternoon. Fishing Fright: Man In Critical Condition After Falling Into Water On Long Island
A Long Island man is in critical condition after he fell into the water while fishing on Long Island and was found unresponsive, officers said. It happened on Sunday, September 17 in Wantagh, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 4:45 a.m., four men were fishing at Greene Island Fishing Pier when one, a 30-year-old man, fell into the water of Sloop Channel. Man Falls Down Elevator Shaft Prompting

Firefighters rescued a 38-year-old man who fell down an elevator shaft Thursday, Feb. 2 in Somerset County, authorities said. Responders found the Watchung man stuck in a building on Mettlers Road around 2:30 p.m. in Franklin Township, township police Lt. Vincent T. Wilson said. The victim was removed but had suffered multiple injuries, and was taken to the hospital by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital BLS and ALS. The building was ordered to be evacuated by the Franklin Township fire marshal and fire inspectors and the building will be closed pending an OSHA investigation.

A woman who was trapped in her burning car after it crashed into a tree was rescued by good Samaritans on Long Island. Becky Boeckmann, age 35, of Bohemia, was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 eastbound in Islandia on Express Drive South, near Enter Lane, when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree at approximately 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, Suffolk County Police said.
