UPDATE: An overnight fire consumed a private home in Little Ferry. Everyone got out OK and no injuries were reported in the blaze, which broke out in the 2½-story residence on Franklin Street, just off Redneck Avenue, shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Little Ferry Garage Fire Doused
A detached garage fire in Little Ferry severely damaged two vehicles and was doused before it could do serious damage to the home, responders said. The smoky, two-alarm blaze broke out on Roosevelt Street near Redneck Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3. Convicted Felon From Garfield Caught With Loaded Gun Hidden In Vehicle 'Trap': Little Ferry PD
A Little Ferry police lieutenant nabbed a convicted felon from Garfield with a loaded gun stashed in a hidden compartment of his vehicle, authorities said. Lt. John Andronaco spotted the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked on Redneck Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, Police Chief James Walters said. Footprints In Snow Lead Little Ferry Police To Suspect Hiding In Shed
LITTLE FERRY, N.J. -- A driver who sped off during a Little Ferry traffic stop crashed his car, ran off, then was found hiding by officers who followed his footprints in the snow, authorities said. Police also recovered a backpack that a witness saw 32-year-old Najee Ray of Lodi toss as he ran, Detective Sgt. Ronald M. Klein Jr. said. Inside was marijuana and packaging bags, he said.
