Pedestrian, 57, Struck, Injured Crossing Street In Midland Park
A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car crossing a street in Midland Park. The 57-year-old man was in the crosswalk on Paterson Avenue at Goffle Road when he was struck around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, Midland Park Police Chief Michael Powderley said. The driver remained at the scene and was given a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian, the chief said. The pedestrian was taken to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with pains in his ribs and a cut on his face, responders said.

A Midland Park man could consider himself fortunate after a vehicle fell on him while he was changing a tire, authorities said. Midland Park Officer Injured Subduing Angered Suspect
A Midland Park police officer required hospital treatment after a disturbed man bit him and hit him with a metal laundry basket, authorities said. The officer and his colleagues were trying to speak with Richard Harris, 30, when he became violent, Police Chief Michael Powderley said. Harris then took off running and was grabbed outside Park Laudromat on Godwin Avenue, the chief said. Two occupants sustained injuries that weren't considered serious when their hatchback split a utility pole before dawn outside the Midland Park Post Office.Utility wires were downed across Godwin as the Hyundai continued into the corner of a building housing an embroidery shop just up the street around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25. UPDATE: It may be difficult for many to believe, but a 67-year-old driver who sped off after a crash that killed a Hawthorne grandfather as he crossed a Glen Rock street was sentenced to a plea-bargained 364 days in the Bergen County Jail. A clerk with the Criminal Division of Superior Court in Hackensack incorrectly reported a three-year state prison sentence for Marina Lee of Hawthorne earlier Monday. Glen Rock Police Officer Helps Ridgewood Colleagues Nab Vehicle Burglary Suspect
A man suspected of burglarizing a vehicle in Ridgewood Sunday morning was captured by a Glen Rock police officer who spotted him hiding behind a bank. A witness dialed 911 and gave village police a detailed description of a man who broke into a vehicle parked at the intersection of Passaic and South Broad streets. Darrell Rude, 32, remained held in the Bergen County Jail pending a court hearing. He’s charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Midland Park police also assisted. Boyd A. Multi-Vehicle Collision At Troublesome Midland Park Intersection Sends Two To Hospital
Three vehicles collided Wednesday morning at a troublesome intersection in Midland Park, sending two occupants to the hospital, after one ran a stop sign, authorities said. Midland Park police, firefighters and EMS responded to the crash at Franklin and Erie avenues near the Ridgewood border. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, Police Chief Michael Powderley said. Two summonses were issued, he said. Tow trucks removed two vehicles. Both were taken by ambulances to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that responders said weren’t life-threatening after the cross at Goffle Road and Lake Avenue. Three-Vehicle Collision Sends Car Crashing Into Midland Park Home
MIDLAND PARK, N.J. -- A three-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon sent a sedan crashing into a Midland Park house. Damage to the single-family home at the corner of Franklin and Vreeland avenues initially appeared minimal. Midland Park EMS personnel tended to at least two of the drivers. All three vehicles were towed. Responders included Midland Park police, firefighters and EMS units. Ridgewood police helped direct traffic. Boyd A. Loving contributed to this article.
