Online Fraudster Who Scammed Elderly Woman Out Of $30K Busted By Police In NJ A 49-year-old Queens, NY man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Feb.  27 with scamming $30,000 from a 76-year-old Nutley woman through an email scam, authorities said. The woman said she responded to a Microsoft e-mail telling her to contact technical support, Nutley police said.  The scammer told her accounts had been jeopardized and walked her through a $30,000 withdrawal, police said. In addition to the prison term, a federal judge in Trenton sentenced Lawrence Espaillat, 42, to three years of supervised release and ordered him to pay restitution of $1.7 million and forfeit $12,000.
