Driver, 22, Parked In Middle Of Road Found DWI With Illegal Gun, Magazine, Hawthorne Police Say
Hawthorne police checking out a car parked smack-dab in the middle of a street found its driver drunk and carrying a gun, authorities said.
The Maserati had been stopped in the middle of 4th Avenue so long that it was covered in snow when officers approached it, Detective Capt. Robert King said.
The driver, Terrel Stephen, 22, of Hawthorne smelled of alcohol, so he was removed from the vehicle, King said.
Inside the car the officers found a firearm with a high-capacity magazine, the captain added.

A Sparta man was drunk and speeding when he crashed head-on into a 41-year-old mother and COVID emergency room nurse, causing her death last month, authorities charged Tuesday.
Sparta detectives charged Atilla Princz, 41, with criminal vehicular homicide, DWI, and numerous violations, Lt. John Lamon said in a release.

Update: Jeep Barrels Into Teaneck Home, Englewood Driver Charged With DWI
A driver from Englewood was drunk when his Jeep barreled into the dining room of a Teaneck home, authorities said.
Officers were responding to a call of an erratic driver at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, when several more calls came in of a crash on Commonwealth Drive, a block up from Teaneck Road, Capt. Michael Ferrante said.
There they found David Pharr, 32, in the Cherokee, Ferrante said.
The vehicle had crashed through a wall into the dining room, according to the owner's daughter.

SUV Mounts Leonia Sidewalk, Hits Market, Local Driver Charged With DWI
A Leonia motorist was intoxicated when his SUV mounted the sidewalk on Broad Avenue and struck an HMart, authorities charged.
Colum McQuaid, 63, was taken into custody after his 2019 Ford Escape came to rest between the end of the building and the traffic light stanchion off the corner off Fort Lee Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
McQuaid was charged with DWI, reckless driving, driving on the sidewalk and refusing to submit to a breath test, according to a police report.
