"It's raining ashes," resident Kelly Bacon Fousse said after the fire ignited in the area south of Degraw Avenue between Route 95 and Teaneck Road around 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. Firefighters doused a small blaze at a Teaneck Caribbean restaurant on Thursday. A firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment after he tripped over a hose and injured his wrist at the Golden Krust in a small shopping center on Teaneck Road at Bedford Avenue, Township Manager Dean Kazinci said. The two-alarm fire broke out shortly after 1 p.m. and was quickly extinguished, he said. Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco self-quarantined on Tuesday, nine days after hosting a news conference in Teaneck with, among others, Holy Name Medical Center CEO Michael Maron, who tested positive for COVID-19. The president and chief executive officer of Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck has tested positive for the coronavirus, multiple sources confirmed.
