A Clifton mother finally exhaled when her missing 12-year-old son was found safe in Secaucus, authorities said. The boy, who is on the autism spectrum, apparently boarded a New Jersey Transit bus on Market Street around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, they said. Clifton police notified Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Unidentified Man's Body Found In Clifton Garage Fire
Authorities were trying to identify a man whose body was found following a garage fire in Clifton. The man's body was found in a car parked in the detached garage behind a 2½-story home at 44 Seger Ave. Wednesday, they said. Firefighters doused the heavily-involved blaze, which was called in at 5:42 p.m. No other injuries were reported. The cause hadn't officially been determined, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi and Clifton Fire Chief Frank Prezioso said in a brief release. An investigation was continuing.

Convicted Drug Dealer Freed From Prison After 5 Years Nabbed In Chase Near Passaic River
A convicted drug dealer who was only just released from prison was captured after leading Clifton police on a high-speed chase, bailing out and hiding in a row of commercial buildings between the Passaic River and Route 21, authorities said. A Clifton police officer headed to a call had his emergency lights activated when his cruiser struck and killed a female pedestrian Thursday night, authorities said. Clifton PD: Bicyclist Who Grabbed Pedestrian's Butt Busted
Clifton police nabbed a bicyclist who they said grabbed a Passaic woman’s butt as she walked down a local street. Fredrick Stemcovski, 32, of Clifton rode slowly past the victim, then circled back and fondled her near the corner of Ackerman Avenue and Randolph avenues, Lt. Robert Bracken said. The woman reported it to police, then alerted them when she spotted Stemcovski in the area of Nash Park the next day, the lieutenant said. Detectives who tracked down and arrested Stemcovski charged him with criminal sexual contact and released him pending a hearing.

A bullet fired into a Clifton home missed hitting a baby, authorities said. Police turned to the public Tuesday for help investigating the shooting, as well as another a few days later. They don't appear related, authorities said. The first occurred around 9:45 p.m. Aug. 12 on Hamilton Avenue.
