Bacteria Risk In Popular Stain Remover Prompts Massive Recall Of 1.5M Bottles
More than 1 million bottles of enzyme stain remover are being recalled after testing showed they can contain bacteria that may cause serious infections. Boston-based distributor Thrasio issued the recall for about 1.5 million Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Removers sold in the US, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Jan. 22. An additional 43,700 bottles were sold in Canada. The stain remover was found to potentially contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an organism commonly found in soil and water. Firefighters Pluck Parrot From Perch Atop Paterson City Hall
Paterson's bravest had a rare rescue Tuesday. A real macaw, found preening atop Paterson City Hall, wasn't coming down on his own, firefighters said. His owner joined a firefighter from Ladder 2 to "pluck" the blue-and-yella fella named Chewy from his perch. This way, they figured, Chewy wouldn't squawk. There was no immediate word on whether he had to be quarantined (they've done that with parrots since before COVID-19).
