Report: These Bergen County Towns Have Highest School Tax Bills In NJ

TENAFLY, N.J. – Nearly $15 billion was spent on school taxes as part of New Jersey residents’ property tax bills last year, the Department of Community Affairs recently revealed.

And 14 of the 30 towns with the highest average school tax bills in the state are in Bergen County, according to NJ.com.

Here are the Bergen County towns with the highest school tax bills, and their state rankings:

  • 3: Tenafly ($12,852)
  • 5: Upper Saddle River ($12,228)
  • 6: Demarest ($11,979)
  • 7: Old Tappan ($11,457)
  • 8: Franklin Lakes ($11,446)
  • 10: Haworth ($11,416)
  • 11: Ridgewood ($11,179)
  • 14: Glen Rock ($10,562)
  • 18: Harrington Park ($10,151)
  • 20: Woodcliff Lake ($10,050)
  • 24: River Vale ($9,660)
  • 25: Closter ($9,650)
  • 26: Allendale ($9,631)
  • 28: Wyckoff ($9,421)
