"When they announced the results, you would have thought you were at a football game it was so loud," said Assemblyman Robert Auth, whose district encompasses parts of both Bergen and Passaic counties.
State Sens. Mike Doherty, Joseph Pennacchio and Sam Thompson joined Auth at the grand opening, along with 1,900 Trump supporters.
Auth reiterated his support for Trump Wednesday after hearing that Ohio Gov. John Kasich had bowed out of the race.
"I think Donald Trump is the right person at the right time to take the reins of government and lead the country in a direction that will be more beneficial for the working class and small businesses," Auth told Daily Voice. "His message of hope and opportunity is very similar to Reagan and if he plays his cards right I think he has the opportunity to eclipse Reagan."
Although Trump will seemingly run uncontested in New Jersey's June 7 primary, Auth said it is important for voters to turn out.
"Regardless of what happens, it is important to show a mandate for Trump," Auth said. "We need to show our commitment."
