Bergen County Election Club: NJ Will Remain Blue State

HACKENSACK, N.J. — Every poll since September has indicated that New Jersey will vote for democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, and the Bergen County Democratic Club expects continued support from its party this Election Day.

"We're a blue state, we're going to stay a blue state," Bergen County Executive James Tedesco said.

Tedesco continued to say that early numbers indicate that New Jersey will vote Democrat on both the county and congressional level.

The last time New Jersey voted for a Republican candidate was in 1988 for George H.W. Bush.

"There is a silent majority and people like to think that's the losing campaign's favorite slogan all the time, but I've never seen anything like this," Bergen County Republican Organization Executive Director Giancarlo Ghione said.

The Republicans in New Jersey have received significant support that may not be obvious from driving through neighborhoods, according to Ghione.

"If you go out, they have all these lawn signs but lawn signs don't pull levers," Ghione said.

"The people here have gotten the message from us and they can see through their ruse."
