Wood-Ridge man, 72, facing public sex charge leaps to death from Hackensack parking garage

UPDATE: Hackensack police, having made family notification, officially confirmed this morning that a 72-year-old Wood-Ridge man who authorities said they caught having sex with another man in a public bathroom in Lyndhurst jumped to his death from the fifth level of a parking garage yesterday.

William Manahan was pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center soon after his body was recovered from the garage at 50 Second St., Detective Capt. Thomas Salcedo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Officers responding to a call about men engaged in lewd activity in the Bergen County Park South restroom just after 11 a.m. said they found Manahan giving Joseph Laido, 50, oral sex in a stall.
