A judge in Hackensack yesterday approved Meishu Jiang of Palisades Park (above, left) and Shanji An of Flushing (right) for a special pre-trial intervention program (PTI) with conditions:
• They surrender any property seized by police in the Aug. 7, 2014 bust at the Rose Spa on Park Avenue;
• They don’t return there to do business;
• They don’t engage in any massage services in Rutherford.
“If you do that for 24 months, the charges will be dismissed,” Superior Court Judge Edward A. Jerejian told the women through an interpreter. “Do you understand that?”
Through their attorneys they said they did.
The conditions will remain in effect after both complete PTI in 24 months and apply to them “indefinitely” under the terms of their agreement with authorities, Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor David Calviello noted.
An was originally charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, maintaining a nuisance and promoting prostitution as the manager and for being unlicensed as a massage therapist.
Jiang was charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, operating without a license and engaging in prostitution.
