Woman struck in Cliffside by Fairview DPW truck

CLIFFVIEW PILOT NEWSBREAK: Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Accident Unit and the county sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification are at the corner of Edgewater Road and Anderson Avenue, where a woman was struck by a DPW truck this afternoon near the A&P supermarket.

She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, Police Chief Donald Keane told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“Her injuries look extremely serious, but it’s too soon to tell right now,” the chief said.

And although a separate source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT it appeared the pickup truck driver wasn’t at any way at fault, Keane said his detectives and the prosecutor’s team would have to make that determination once their investigation is complete.
